Paris, Wednesday June 3, 2020 - today ITI announced the availability of the new version of CADfix PPS 3, the latest version of CAD model simplification and file size reduction solution. Below are highlighted the main enhancements of PPS 3 :

Import and Export

  • New CATIA V5 output in as either BREP (.CATpart) or CGR (.cgr).
  • New ability to merge models allowing several two models to be merged into one file.
  • New auto clean-up during import to allow more effective model simplification and better-quality models.
  • Support for latest CAD versions (See the Product availability matrix for details).

Model Attributes

  • New support for transparency allowing whole part, or individual faces to appear transparent.
  • Auto-simplification and batch
  • Improved results and performance providing greater accuracy and more consistent results.
  • New option to use a saved keep list. Utilizing filters to identify components by shape, size, label, etc.

In this webinar we will discuss how CADfix PPS facilitates the fully automatic simplification of large MCAD equipment models, minimizing user interaction and saving valuable time and cost.
With configuration files to store simplification tool parameters, CADfix PPS provides a consistent and repeatable automatic model simplification process that helps users achieve the desired level of simplification.
Saved configuration files can be applied to process individual or multiple models in a batch run. The CADfix PPS batch system produces processing reports for each model, with easily accessible simplification results for user interrogation.

May 26, 2020 – ITI announces the release of CADIQ 13, the latest version of our flagship CAD model quality and validation software provides several powerful enhancements that build upon the already powerful MBD model validation capabilities, improve user productivity, and expand the scope of CAD model formats and features supported. CADIQ 13 includes hundreds of bug fixes and security-related updates.

CADIQ compares CAD models of various formats to identify geometric shape, quality, annotation and PMI saved view differences introduced by engineering changes, translation or manual remodeling. It highlights shape differences in form, mass properties, surface geometry and topology. Quality defects that impede analysis, manufacturing or data exchange processes are clearly identified with no extraneous information. CADIQ analysis uses the native programming interface of each CAD system to maximize accuracy and robustness. Excel statistics are automatically generated to support process quality control. All functionality is available in a command line interface for integration into PLM systems.

The following improvements to the comprehensive validation of CAD geometry and PMI can be found in CADIQ 13 :

Commercial CAD tools have matured at an impressive rate over the last 30 years. Today they provide the de facto industry solution for the creation of sophisticated, highly realistic, parametric geometry, capturing ever-increasing levels of detail and complexity.

However, for engineers and analysts performing advanced simulation, CAD geometry is frequently quoted as the single biggest bottleneck in their workflow.
