Interoperability around the XYZ digitization format

The XYZ file format is based on the Cartesian coordinate system (x, y, and z) and is an ASCII file format that transmits data in the form of text lines. However, there is no unit standardization for XYZ files, which can lead to compatibility issues between different programs. Therefore, using XYZ files as a data transfer method is risky unless additional information is provided to ensure compatibility. Despite its widespread compatibility, the lack of standardization calls for caution when using XYZ files for data transfer and storage.
