Support for Autodesk Revit format
Autodesk Revit format is one of the most popular BIM formats used in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. We are pleased to announce its support in CAD Exchanger SDK. RVT files with the .rvt extension can now be imported into our software. This functionality is currently available only in the SDK, but support in the Lab version will be available in a future release. CAD Exchanger currently covers several recent versions of the Revit format, including versions 2021 and 2022.
BIM-specific data model
CAD Exchanger introduces a BIM-specific data model designed to optimize BIM workflows. Each element of the BIM model has a fixed class field that enables associativity with Revit families. This facilitates storing, reusing, and iterating upon families using CAD Exchanger SDK. For maximum performance, only used elements of the families are translated, while unused family elements are not saved. It is possible to switch from the BIM data model to the traditional CAD data model, but this results in the loss of BIM-specific information.
CAD Exchanger native CDXBIM format
The CAD Exchanger team has developed the CDXBIM format for persistent storage of BIM models. Now you can save your BIM models in CDXBIM format and later restore the information without the need for conversion from IFC. Import IFC or Autodesk Revit files, obtain the BIM model, make necessary changes, and work with our format inside CAD Exchanger SDK. The CDXBIM format also provides faster model loading, enhancing your productivity.

CAD Exchanger is an easy to use and inexpensive CAD solution for viewing and converting 3D models. It will allow you to read the main CAD formats like Catia, NX, Creo and save them in another format like STEP, JT or others. This new version of the product is immediately available to all maintenance customers wishing to update CAD Exchanger to version 3.19.
